About Us
TASMU catalyzes Qatar’s ICT ecosystem by uniting global innovators with the needs of the local market to fuel Qatar’s digital transformation. Created as the digital response to Qatar National Vision 2030, TASMU seeks to enhance the delivery of public services in Qatar across five priority sectors: transport, logistics, environment,
healthcare and sports.
Information and communications technologies (ICTs) can play a critical role in improving transportation for individuals and communities, while also providing the capacity to improve the system efficiencies. Computers and communications attributes can be networked to build systems for moving transport information. Informatics is yet another integral aspect of IT. Information technology applications in transport can include Mobile Apps for Information, Online Fines Payment System, Road Side Assiistance etc.
As technologies are the ideal part of our lives, the future of public transportation is changing rapidly. New and advanced modes of public transportation are emerging and replacing the current modes of transportation. This change is transforming the transportation sector and triggering a paradigm shift. But we are still facing various problems such as traffic congestion, parking issues, environmental problems, etc. These are the main problems of the present scenario and we want to explore solutions to resolve these transportation issues.
We at TASMU Smart Qatar - Transport RFP (Request For Proposal) wanted to bring together several experts in the field so they can work together to come up with responses to our RFPs.
Problem Statements
We want to facilitate mobility through a safe, reliable, and environmentally friendly transport network.
We are requesting responses to the Request for proposals under below mentioned themes.,
Themes:
1. Seamless Mobility
2. Smart Parking
Connected Transport Network
Provide a Public Transportation Portal to guide users through the planning and booking of their journeys. Connected Transport Network offers packaged travel arrangements by comparing possible various scenarios and recommending the most optimal transit package based on user’s preferences of price, distance, time and mode of transportation.
Submit your proposals to
1. Increase Productivity - Travelers plan their journeys more accurately by conveniently selecting transportation segments, minimizing transit and waiting times.
2. Enhance Travel Experience - With electronically prepaid trips and the ability to pre-book and alter journeys at any given time, travelers benefit from better unified and transparent services.
3. Enhance Special Needs Accessibility - Passengers can conveniently plan their journeys and request special vehicles to meet their needs through integrated public transportation mediums.
Smart Parking
Provide automated IoT-based Smart Parking solutions aimed at increasing parking utilization for populated urban corridors, while offering recharging stations for EVs. Smart Parking would reduce traffic congestion and accompanying environmental impacts by providing drivers with access to contextual space information, direct navigation to available spots and seamless payment solutions.
Submit Proposals for
- Reduced Traffic Congestion - By knowing where to park, drivers spend less time circulating the streets, idling and blocking traffic on narrow streets, and holding back traffic from moving slowly.
- Increased Productivity - Valuable productive time is given back to drivers and passengers from time otherwise lost in traffic or searching for parking.
- Reduced Environmental Impacts - The Smart Parking solution reduces travel time and eliminates unnecessary engine idling, directly reducing harmful emissions into the environment.
