Climate Fintech is now one of the fastest-growing areas of the Fintech sector. In 2021, Climate Fintech Startups raised $1.2 billion in funding. This is three times more than all the previous years combined. Big ideas are needed to solve the global climate crisis and the ability to use financial technology is playing an increasing role in managing climate change.
Climate Fintech is nothing but the intersection of fintech and climate tech meets where money (or value) movement is tied to an environmentally responsible cause or reporting.
Problem Statements
Create a Climate Fintech Application, build on your own existing app, marketplace, or platform or create a powerful fintech feature that can be integrated into your Climate app or platform while using Rapyd APIs for the payments hook.
Build out opportunities for customers or businesses to make better choices or investments into lower carbon emissions or carbon offsets. Turn your environmental scoring into gamification or benchmarks to earn rewards.

Eligibility
- This is a team participation hackathon. You can have at most 4 members on your team.
- It's an online hackathon, you can participate from anywhere.
- Cross-college teams are allowed.
- The event will be monitored by the organizers throughout.
- Only the team leader is required to make the submissions.
- All decisions regarding eligibility and final judgment shall rest with the organizing body.
- The format and rules of the competition are subject to change.
- The participants are solely responsible for providing themselves with adequate internet facilities in order to participate in this event.
- All participants will have to play fairly, adhere to all rules, and remain true to the spirit of the competition at all stages of the event.
- You are expected to come up with new and innovative ideas, any idea that has been copied from somewhere will be disqualified.
- Your hack must be developed entirely during the Hackathon duration. You may use open source libraries and other freely available systems / services such as Google Maps, Facebook Connect, Twitter feeds etc.
- The intellectual property of your code belongs only to your team.

Do I need to have any specific qualifications to be a participant for the Hackathon?
If you love to code, you are more than welcome to participate in the Hackathon.
Is there a registration fee?
No, there is no registration fee.
How do I submit the code that I have written for the Hackathon?
Once the proposal submission stage of the hackathon is enabled, you can submit the code.
Do I need to give a demo for the product that I have built?
If you want you can submit a small presentation or video that demos your submission, however it's not mandatory, and only good to have. In case you are one of the winners, you might be invited to demo your application at a physical event, details of which will be shared with sufficient advance notice.
Will the information shared be kept confidential?
Information provided to us through the online application will be shared only on a need-to-know basis within the relevant event and evaluation teams. The information provided will be retained by us post the program for audit purposes and will be shared with an external party only upon obtaining explicit permission from the applicant / authorised team member.
Can I request a reevaluation in case, I am not satisfied with the Judge’s decision?
No. You cannot request for re-evaluation. The decision of the judges shall be final and binding. IRDAI reserves all rights with respect to the event.
